Learn More About Our Installation Services

DIY installation is a great idea until it comes time to actually do the installation yourself. At Dolphin Carpet & Tile, our installation crew boasts years of industry experience and is ready, willing, and able to expertly install your flooring. Learn more about our installation services and our general installation process in this blog post.

Carpet Installation

Carpet installation is best left up to the professionals as it requires a certain “know-how.” When installers are preparing for your carpet installation, they create a seaming diagram for the overall layout of the carpet, placement of seams, and transitions. This blueprint will enable the Dolphin Carpet & Tile installation time to better prepare for the cutting and installation of your carpet flooring.

When it comes to carpet installation, one of the more challenging things installation crews will face is minimizing and hiding the seams inherent in your carpet flooring. At Dolphin, our installation team takes great pains to ensure that carpet seams are not in high-traffic areas. Our installers will also try to match the surface heights of various flooring products to minimize transitions. When it comes to installation day, you’ll want to ensure that the room(s) in question is furniture-free. We also ask that children and pets stay clear of the area on installation. Everything else can be left up to our fantastic installation crew.

Tile Installation

The installation of tile flooring is an incredibly complex and labor-intensive process. More than just difficult and exacting, tile flooring can take an extended period if done independently. At Dolphin Carpet & Tile, we recommend you use an experienced installation crew to install your tile floors. Tile floor installation is a skill learned through years of experience. Trust the team at Dolphin when it comes time to install yours.

In terms of preparing for your tile installation, again, you’ll want to ensure there is no furniture in the room(s) where the installation will take place. Children and pets should plan to vacate the area on installation day. When your tile installation is complete, you’ll want to open the windows and run a fan to remove any installation-related smells. We’ll take care of the rest.

Vinyl Installation

Much like the other types of flooring mentioned in this blog, vinyl installation can be challenging and complex. And for that reason, we recommend professional installers to get the job done. Our team at Dolphin will start the vinyl installation with a clean job site, a prepared subfloor, and the removal of any furniture that could get in the way during installation. An adequately prepared subfloor is vital as imperfections can show through your vinyl flooring. We’ll work to ensure your subflooring is dry, clean, smooth, and free from paint, varnish, wax, oils, solvents, and adhesive before we launch into our installation.

If opting for waterproof vinyl planks, then your installation will not require do not require glue. These planks are installed using a floated method and will take less time than other types of vinyl flooring. For the installation, a member of our team will interlock the planks to each other one at a time before adding molding to cover the perimeter gap. The process will end up with additional trim pieces placed in doorways or where the laminate meets a different type of flooring.

Laminate Installation

Trust the team at Dolphin for a beautiful, efficient, and correct laminate installation. Proper laminate installation requires industry know-how and years of installation experience. Our installers typically begin in the left corner of the area and leave a minimum ¼-inch space between the flooring and the perimeter walls. We do this because the laminate requires space around the room’s edges to expand. Once your floor is fully installed, your crew will cover the gap with trim.
